From Airships to the Aeroscraft
--
It was a momentous year for Aeros, as the leading FAA Type Certified
lighter-than-air aircraft manufacturing company scaled new heights in
research, development, production and transformation to the Aeroscraft
Company. Some of these achievements are listed below.
THE AEROSCRAFT COMPANY
--
The year 2007 marks the transformation of the company by establishing its
main focus on the development of the new type of buoyancy assisted air
vehicle the Aeroscraft. Although Aeros will continue to produce its FAA
Type Certified standard production model the Aeros 40D Sky Dragon airship,
tethered aerostatic systems and advance the high altitude airship
technologies, the company is confident that the Aeroscraft will bring much
more practical utilities within the LTA based air vehicle.

THE AEROS 40D SKY DRAGON AIRSHIP ACHIEVES FAA TYPE
CERTIFICATION
-- In 2007 the LTA world was joined by
the newest and the most technologically advanced Aeros 40D Sky Dragon
Airship. Aeros has always been a great innovator in airship design and
has introduced more advanced features in this
new model. The Aeros 40D follows the tradition of the Aeros
engineering with state-of-the-art technologies.

AEROS’ 20th ANNIVERSARY

Aeros, a proud member of the aerospace
community, celebrated its 20th anniversary in operations. The
inventive spirit, the constant pursue of excellence, and the approach
for continuous innovation has transformed Aeros into a premier airship
manufacturer, and a leading research and development house for the
aerospace industry. Aeros’ products serve diligently in commercial
and government applications.

THE AEROS 40D SKY DRAGON AIRSHIP RECEIVES CAAC TYPE CERTIFICATE
--
Chinese civil aviation authority grants
the Aeros 40D Sky Dragon airship the validation of the Type
Certificate. This validation opens new market for Aeros airships.

AEROS DEVELOPS A NEW TETHERED AEROSTAT SYSTEM--
The new system will allow for more
utilities within the tethered aerostatic system. Aeros’ aerostat
demonstration program offers a new concept for lowering the cost of a
system without sacrificing performance. The program is aimed at
allowing the military to utilize aerostats in greater numbers to the
benefit of the warfighter.

THE AEROSCRAFT ML866 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM BEGINS
--
Program ML8XX is renamed to the
Aeroscraft model ML866. Aeros begins working on the Certification
Basis for the Aeroscraft model ML866.

FIRST METAL CUT FOR THE AEROS 40D SKY DRAGON AIRSHIP--
Construction of the next production
model of the Aeros 40D Sky Dragon began when the first “metal cut”
took place at Aeros’ manufacturing site in Los Angeles, California.

THE AEROS 40D S/N 40D-21 SKY DRAGON AIRSHIP GONDOLA ROLL-OUT
--
The Aeros 40D program is on schedule
and on cost, validating company’s commitment and focus on quality,
cost, delivery and technical excellence.

THE DARPA COSH PROGRAM
--
Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA) has awarded contract to Aeros for the Control of Static
Heaviness (COSH) flight Demonstration program. The focus of the DARPA
COSH program is the development and in-flight demonstration of the
technology that will enable to generate and control the lift during
all stages of flight without taking ballast on-board.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE AEROSCRAFT ML866 PROGRAM AT THE NBAA--
The Aeroscraft ML866 was showcased at
the National Business Aviation Association 60th Meeting and Convention
in Atlanta, GA, where it received the greatest welcome and a lot of
interest, solidifying its place in the business aviation market. This
year the Aeroscraft ML866 was the only full blown aircraft development
announced at the show.
October, 2007
AEROS OPENS NEW ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING FACILITY
--
Aeros opened a new engineering and
manufacturing facility focusing on development of a new type of rigid,
buoyancy assisted air vehicle – the Aeroscraft. Consolidation of the
prototype development and production has led to significant increases
in overall efficiency.

THE AEROSCRAFT ML866 DESIGN CONFIGURATION FREEZE
--
Aeros has frozen the configuration
design of the Aeroscraft model Aeros ML866 – first of the Aeroscraft
family. The company moves forward with manufacturing of the first
article and estimating its maiden flight for 2010.
December, 2007
APPLICATION FOR THE AEROSCRAFT ML866 TYPE CERTIFICATION HAS BEEN
SUBMITTED TO THE FAA
–
Aeros has submitted its application to
the Federal Aviation Administration for the Type Certification program
of the Aeroscraft model ML-866. This is a major milestone as the new
type of buoyancy assisted air vehicle program moves ahead.
