First metal cut for the Aeros 40D Sky Dragon airship.
June 8, 2007 Los Angeles, CA
Construction
of the next production model of the Aeros 40D Sky Dragon began when the
first “metal cut” took place today at Aeros’ manufacturing site in Los
Angeles, California. This marks the start of manufacturing of another
Aeros airship with a superior technology package and is confirmation that
the Aeros 40D program is on track.
The high tech features
incorporated into a single pilot operated Aeros 40D airship provide for
better performance and economic advantages over older-generation airships.
The Aeros 40D is 153ft long with 100,000 cubic ft of volume.
The Federal Aviation
Administration Type Certified Aeros 40D “Sky Dragon” was designed around
the market demand for an airship capable of multi-mission applications
that range from advertising and broadcast camera work to a sensor suite
platform.
The Aeros 40D responds to the
current growing need for a more technologically advanced lighter-than-air
vehicle. The ability to perform imperative operations through available
modern technologies demonstrates the efficiency and overall value of the
Aeros 40D airship.
