Michael J. Bayer

Chairman of the Defense Business Board

Mr. Bayer is the President and CEO of Dumbarton Strategies in Washington, D.C., a provider of strategic planning and merger and acquisition counsel. He is also member of the Sandia National Laboratory`s National Security Advisory Panel, the Defense Science Board and the Chief of Naval Operations Executive Panel. Mr. Bayer’s previous U.S. Government service included appointments as Vice Chairman of the Defense Business Board; a Member of the Board of Visitors of the United States Military Academy; Chairman of the Army Science Board; a Member of the U.S. Naval War College Board of Visitors; Chairman of the Secretary of Air Force’s Advisory Group; and a Member of the U.S. European Command Senior Advisory Group.

Earlier in his career Mr. Bayer was counsel to a senior Member of the U.S. House of Representatives; Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy; Malcolm Baldrige`s Associate Deputy Secretary of Commerce; counselor to the United States Synthetic Fuels Corporation; counselor to the Commission on Aviation Security and Terrorism; and the Federal Inspector for the Alaska Natural Gas Transportation System.

Dr. Tony Tether

Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency

Dr. Tether served from 2001 to 2009 as Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) which is responsible for the development of new U.S. military technology. As Director, Dr. Tether was responsible for the management of the Agency`s projects for innovative research and development.

Prior to DARPA, Dr. Tether held the position of Chief Executive Officer and President of the Sequoia Group. Dr. Tether also served as Chief Executive Officer for Dynamics Technology Inc. He was also Vice President of Science Applications International Corporation`s (SAIC) Advanced Technology Sector, and then Vice President and General Manager for Range Systems at SAIC. Prior to working at SAIC, he spent six years as Vice President for Technology and Advanced Development at Ford Aerospace Corp., acquired by Loral Corporation during that period.

Director of Central Intelligence Bill Casey and Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger honored Dr. Tether with the National Intelligence Medal and the Department of Defense Civilian Meritorious Service Medal in 1986. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates also honored him with the Department of Defense Outstanding Public Service Medal in 2009.

Michael W. Wynne

21st United States Secretary of the Air Force (RET)

A retired Senior Vice President from General Dynamics, Mr. Wynne has played a prominent role in International Development and Strategy. In addition to his 23 years at General Dynamics, where he served in various senior positions, he spent three years with Lockheed Martin after selling General Dynamics` Space Systems Division to Martin Marietta.

Prior to joining the Bush Administration, Mr. Wynne was involved in venture capital. As a member of the NextGenFund Executive Committee, he nurtured small technology companies through their startup phase, as well as served in executive positions of two of those companies. In 2001, he was confirmed as Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. In 2003, he was appointed as Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. A prominent supporter of the Renewable Energy Industry, Mr. Wynne has supported the Air Force`s continued leadership in clean energy procurement.

Kenneth J. Krieg

Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (RET)

Mr. Krieg previously served as the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. Prior to his appointment to USD (AT&L), he also worked with the Department of Defense as Special Assistant to the Secretary and Director for Program Analysis and Evaluation, as well as the Executive Secretary of the Senior Executive Council (SEC). Mr. Krieg was also with International Paper (IP) for 11 years, as the Vice President and General Manager of the Office and Consumer Papers Division.

Mr. Krieg worked in a number of defense and foreign policy assignments in Washington, D.C., including positions at the White House, serving on the National Security Council Staff and in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He serves on several CEO advisory boards and is a member of the Board of Trustees of LMI and the Board of Directors of Twisted Pair Solutions. He is also a distinguished fellow at Center for Naval Analysis (CNA).

Gen. William Tuttle

Commanding General, United States Army Materiel Command (RET)

 

General Tuttle consults for several firms in the defense industry. Following his retirement from the Army, he joined the not-for-profit Logistics Management Institute, first as a consultant and then as President and Chief Executive Officer from 1993 through 2001 and a Trustee until 2009 when he became Trustee Emeritus. He has written a book entitled Defense Logistics for the 21st Century, published by Naval Institute Press and has lectured on defense logistics at the Defense Acquisition University, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Army Logistics Management College, the University of North Carolina’s LOGTECH program and at the University of Alaska Anchorage .
 
As the Army`s senior logistician, General Tuttle led 100,000 soldiers and civilians of the U.S. Army Materiel Command from 1989 until his retirement early in 1992, a period encompassing Operation Just Cause in Panama and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. General Tuttle also commanded the U.S. Army Logistics Center (now the Combined Arms Support Command), the U.S. Army Operational Test and Evaluation Agency, the Eastern Area of the Military Traffic Management Command, and both the Support Command and Supply and Transport Battalion of the 3d Armored Division in Germany. He served in the Pentagon as the Army`s Director of Force Management and at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe as Chief of Policy and Programs Branch and representative to NATO`s Defense Review Committee.
