AEROS BEGINS
DEVELOPMENT OF A NEXT-GENERATION INTELLIGENT AEROSTAT SYSTEM
Los Angeles, California - March 20, 2004
Aeros has begun
development of a new-technology aerostat system. The scope of effort for
the program will incorporate a number of new capabilities, such as pitch
attitude control and a LAN communications backbone.
"We see need for a
large infusion of technology in aerostat systems today," remarks Aeros CEO
Igor Pasternak. "These systems have tended to lag in technology instead of
leading in it, and as a result a large leap forward is needed to catch up
their capabilities with what is achievable today." As a result, the system
now in development will serve as a technology testbed for a number of new
features and subsystems- many of which do not exist on any aerostat
systems available today. One important design constraint for the expected
customer base will be ease of transport, to allow rapid system deployment
to anywhere in the world.
The new system is
expected to be flying by late spring.
