PRODUCTION

Technological advances in both product and material, as well as the advent of modern engineering and design techniques, have led to the development of improved structural and operations systems which have been incorporated into Aeros airships.

The craftsmanship of Aeros airships is unsurpassed. However, all the craftsmanship in the world would be of no value without quality materials. That's why Aeros uses only the finest quality materials, instruments and systems available in every part of the manufacturing process.

Envelope Construction

The most significant component of any Lighter-than-Air airship is the envelope, which encloses the helium gas, providing for the airship's lift.

Aeros has developed our own specifications for the fabric material (patent pending) used in the manufacture of the envelope. This fabric is weldable on both surfaces, and has characteristics that minimize damage caused during a puncture or tear. This transparent multi-layer fabric is a woven nylon that is impregnated with polyurethane composition, including two helium protection barriers and double UV coatings. The fabric features unbeatable helium preservation, and at the same time provides for longer life than any other airship fabric available on the market today.

Our envelopes are manufactured with the utmost precision. Our computer-controlled plotting and cutting machine accurately marks and cuts the material into the required panels and patches. The panels and patches are then heat-welded to the envelope fabric, providing a strong, everlasting, hermetically sealed joint. During the envelope manufacturing process, operations are continually monitored and inspected to ensure there are no discrepancies to stringent design specifications.

Gondola Construction

Our gondola is constructed principally of aircraft grade aluminum alloys and is built using advanced manufacturing techniques. Our simple design incorporates air dynamic and ergonomic requirements while additionally focusing on pilot and passenger accommodations. The gondola's design strategically places all systems in one convenient location for ease of pilot access and control. Our priority in the design process of the gondola places tremendous emphasis on safety, without compromise. The resulting design also allows for ease of maintenance, thereby also reducing operational costs.

SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Aeros integrates only the latest state-of-the-art systems into our airships.

Electro/Mechanical Systems

Aeros is proud to present the revolutionary concept of the lighter-than-air aircraft flight control system - "flight by pneumatic". This highly reliable and safe system delivers quick and natural responses and outstanding flight stability. No other system blends such comfort with this level of rewarding performance.

Flight Instrument Package

All instruments are highly reliable with low maintenance cost. The "Package" is a traditional arrangement with a recordability feature, and uses a high rate of digital instrumentation (A higher rate than is used in many aircrafts and certainly greater than those of other airships). Additionally, the Package requires much less panel space and allows greater visibility for the pilot and other technical personnel using the airship as an aerial platform. This also reduces airship "down" time.

Instrumentation is multi-standard and provides readings both in U.S. and metric system. These readings are displayed digitally and in analog for easy pilot interpretation. The audio panel incorporates a voice annunciator that will warn the pilot that the limits of such items as envelope over or under pressure, oil temp/pressure, fuel status, etc. are being reached. A visual annunciator also provides the status of all systems, showing green-lighted textual indication for "system ready". The annunciator, combined with the color LED analog instrument indications, provides a "green cockpit" concept when all systems are normal.

Power Plant

Aeros 40D features the most sophisticated and reliable engine - Teledyne Continental IO-240-B. The engine is air-cooled, has four horizontally opposed overhead valve cylinders, fuel injected with a down draft induction system. The Power plant features a dependable ignition, induction (with 2 alternate air intakes), air conditioning, with an electrical charging and exhaust systems.

The powerful IO-240-B engine has a high TBO (Time Between Overhaul) period -2000 hours. Commanding, quiet, highly efficient and low maintenance, this engine is a magnificent engine for this superb airship.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Our quality assurance policy, under direct responsibility of the President of Aeros, complies with the latest high standards in the area of aviation. Our Production Management team; meticulously monitor every aspect of construction including fabrication, machining, assembly and heat welding, all performed by highly skilled aviation professionals. We are committed to maintaining and continually adhering to international manufacturing standards.
