June 1, 2006, Los Angeles, California  Igor Pasternak, whose company Worldwide Aeros Corp - the world's leading lighter-than-air, FAA-certified aircraft manufacturing company, has been selected the 2006 Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.  The company's operations involve the research, development, production, operation and marketing of a complete family of Aeros-branded air vehicles used in government and commercial applications.  These include non-rigid FAA Type Certified Aeros 40D Sky Dragon Airships, Advanced Tethered Aerostatic Systems and New Type Rigid Air Vehicle - Aeroscraft.

Pasternak received his award yesterday from U.S. SBA Administrator Hector V. Barreto, at a Los Angeles luncheon at Millennium Biltmore Hotel.  He was nominated for the award by Mr. Wai-Chun Li, the head of the SBA Lending Department of the United Commercial Bank. 

The strong belief, passion and ability to overcome significant challenges, achieve the impossible, and desire to reach the new heights every time helped Pasternak succeed in the development of his company, which now employs over 40 people.  “I am thrilled and honored to be selected for this award.  Our goal is to pursue the standards of excellence and we are determined to drive aggressively toward it” said Pasternak.

Earlier this year Igor Pasternak was awarded by San Fernando Valley Business Journal for the Unique Product of the Year and by the Los Angeles Russian Advisory Board for Achievement in Business.
